What is the Puesta del Sol Auction?
The auction is a fun, grown-up social gathering for our Puesta del Sol community. While our PTA and volunteers does a great job of fundraising, larger scale fundraising is usually done every other year to help fund Puesta del Sol's unique needs like our Amity interns, classroom grants and experiences. Proceeds from the live and online auction benefit the general budget to support these programs. Prior to the pandemic, the auction was run every other year. While it was paused during pandemic, funding is still needed to bridge the gap between state and district funding and the needs of our school.
Our auction is also a great night out to come out and celebrate our school and accomplishments--it only happens every other year!
What happens during the auction?
We have some fun activities, with the main events being the silent auction with bidding through your mobile device (there will be complimentary WiFi), and an exciting live auction. The auction is accompanied by a plated dinner with your choice of entree.
When does the auction take place?
A live auction will take place the night of March 9. An online auction will also take place, with some items open for bidding prior to March 9, and closing that evening.
What kind of items are offered in the auction?
Popular auction you can expect to see will include one-of-a-kind experiences like international and domestic travels, Chef tastings, entertainment and more! There are items and experiences for all ages, including Principal for a Day as well as Cafecito Helper with Sra Brenda-an experience that includes naming a school lunch item after your student! Classroom families are also putting together themed baskets to auction on a variety of themes. There is something for everyone at every price point!
What kind of items are needed for donation?
Our auction committee has been hard at work procuring one of a kind experiences and items! Thank you our families, alumni, and extended community that have donated to ensure an incredible event! While we have a very full list, we welcome any additional donations that you may want to give! We often find some of our best items come from our families!
If you or a family member have a fun job or skill that another adult or kid could learn from-or connection with someone who is open to sharing their experience? Or, perhaps access to travel, getaways, concerts/shows, or services? Perhaps you are an alumni that would love to run a baseball clinic, or someone who loves a subject and would love to run a fun outing. If you have a donation, you can always head to the "donations" tab and submit your items or experiences. You can also contact us at auction@puestadelsolpta.org and we will gladly talk with you about a procurement idea and send you a form to fill out.

What exactly is the difference between regular and VIP tickets?
Regular tickets include: admission to our live auction event with plated dinner
VIP tickets include admission into our live auction, plated dinner, Complimentary SWAG, and Preferred seating closest to our auctioneer, Graham Crowe.
Who will I sit with?
The best guarantee would be to captain a table. This would give you complete control of 10 seats! However, you can request via email who you would like to sit by. We will be sending out RSVP confirmations towards late Feb/early March and we will do our best to honor all asks. If you are also someone who would like to come but intimidated as you do not know anyone and the idea of this event is daunting, please reach out to us. Our auction committee is comprised of parents from all grades from prek-5th (and alumni!) and we will do our best to make sure this event is one that is fun for ALL.

Yes! We have reserved an Auction Room Block at a special price of $169 per night for those staying Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 10
